General Orders 1.The V International Congress of Medical Students and Young Doctors - Warsaw 2008, further named a Congress, is a review of scientific attainments by Students and Internees and a competition between the best scientific papers. 2.The Congress will be held on the 25-27th of April 2008 in the buildings of the Centre of Didactics and the Rectory of the Medical University of Warsaw (ul. Żwirki i Wigury 61) 3.The Conference assumes the following scientific session: Allergology i Pulmonology, Bioinformatics and Telemedicine, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Oncology Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, Internal Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Dermatology, Diabetology, Computer Diagnostics, Endocrinology, Pharmacology, Pharmacoeconomics, Physiotherapy, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Hypertensiology, Cardiology, Invasive Cardiology and Cardio Surgery, Laryngology, Basic Science, Health Science, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Ophtalmology, Oncology and Hematology, Orthopedics and Trauma, Pathology, Pediatrics, Perinatology, Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology, Dentistry, Transplant Surgery, Urology, Varia, Public Health and Epidemiology 4.A particular session will take place only under the terms if a minimum of 10 scientific papers will be accepted. In the case when the amount of papers for a specific session is not large enough, the accepted ones will be transferred by the Organizer to a session which is most closely related to the topic. II. Organizing Committee 5.The President of the Congress is the Chair of the Board of the Students Scientific Organization of the Warsaw Medical University. 6.The Chair of the Organizing Committee is a member chosen from the Board of the Students Scientific Organization. 7.The Board of the Organizing Committee is chosen from the members of the Board and Revision Committee of the Students Scientific Association. 8.The Board of the Organizing Committee chooses the Session Coordinators, which task is to organize and prepare the particular thematic session for the Congress. 9.The Organizing Committee consists of: the President of the Congress, the Chair of the Congress, the Chair of the Organizing Committee, the Board Members of the Organizing Committee and the Coordinators of thematic sessions. III. Scientific Committee 10.The Chair of the Scientific Committee is the plenipotentiary of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw towards the Student Scientific Movement. 11.The Members of the Scientific Committee are the Members of the Jury in the particular thematic sessions. IV. Terms of applying and acceptance 12.The paper must be applied by the end of 29.02.2008. 13.Abstracts are accepted only in English version. 14.The demand for the abstract is to be divided into 5 parts: introduction, aim, material and methods, results, conclusion. 15.The abstract may be no longer than 2500 signs including spacebar signs. 16.The abstract is not allowed to contain grids, graphs nor picture image. 17.The acceptance of the scientific papers is based on the Marks given by the reviewers. 18.The Organizing Committee seizes the right to change the form of the presented paper and transfer it to another session. 19.The author of the scientific paper will be informed about the acceptance and the type of session and form of presentation or of the decline, through email to the address given during the registration of the paper, to the 1st of April, 2008 at the latest. 20.The decision concerning the session and form or possibly the decline is ultimate. 21.The finalization of acceptance is paying the registration fee, excluding appliers which are released from this fee. (see annex. 1) V. Principles and forms of presentations 22.The Scientific Papers may be presented orally or on posters. 23.The Oral presentation must be prepared in the program Microsoft Power Point 2003 version or older, burnt on a CD disc and delivered to the Congress Organizing Committee Office, labeled with the Name of the session, number given when registering, title, name and surname of the person presenting the presentation not later than 1 hour before the beginning of the session. Otherwise failing to do so, the presentation will not be presented and the Organizers than have full right to exclude the paper and presentation from the competition. All animations and music is attached by the Authors as their own responsibility. 24.Allposters must be prepared in A1 format and delivered to the place of presentation minimum 1 h before the beginning of the poster session. Otherwise failing to do so, the poster will not be presented and the Organizers than have full right to exclude the paper and poster from the competition. 25.The presenter presenting a paper in the oral session has 7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for the discussion. 26. The presenter presenting a poster in the poster session has 5 minutes for the presentation and 2 minutes for the discussion. 27.The presenter presenting his scientific paper is obligated to participate in the discussion after finishing his presentation. VI. Terms of the competition during the Congress 28.Papers which have been positively qualified and accepted have the Wright to be presented during the Congress and will take part in the competition. 29.In each session there will be a specially established Jury, consisting of acknowledged specialists in the particular field. 30.In each oral session the Jury picks and awards three best presentations. 31.In each poster session the Jury picks and awards 1 best poster. 32.The special prizes are awarded by the Jury in the particular session, unless the prize founder states otherwise. VII. Congress Fees 35.The Registration Fee from every participant is 80,00 PLN or 20,00 EUR to the 29th of February 2008. After this date the registration fee is 120,00 PLN or 30,00 EUR. 36.In this Fee the Organizing Committee guarantees: a set of conference materials + 1 supper on the desired day (Friday or Saturday) + entrance for the Welcoming Party and Evening Banquet. 37.The only form of paying for the registration fees is by money transfer through a bank to to acount of the Students Scientific Association of the Warsaw Medical University. 38.Participants presenting their scientific papers which are registered members of the Students Scientific Association of the Warsaw Medical University are released of the registration fee. 39.Every participant that is not released of paying the registration fee is obligated to show their proof of pay. 40.The entrance to the conference rooms is free of charge. VIII. Final Resolution 41.The registration of a scientific paper is equivalent with the acceptation of these regulations and consent for the processing and accessibility of all data given during the registration of the scientific paper for the purposes of the Students Scientific Association statute and Congress Organizing Committee tasks, in this for the preparation of the abstract book and publicizing the abstracts and results of the competition on the Students Scientific Associations Website and Congress Webpage. 42.The ultimate interpretation of these regulations, as well as all situations not covered by these Regulations, lies with the side of the Organizing Committee. 43.The ultimate authority in all matters of dispute is the plenipotentiary of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw towards the Student Scientific Movement.
